The bar at Mama Tried

Bar Bash
The founders of Mama Tried have plenty of experience when it comes to bar matters. Dan Binkiewicz is the co-founder behind favorites like Purdy Lounge, Sweet Liberty and Blackbird Ordinary, while Mauricio Lacayo cut his teeth at The Bend Liquor Lounge. Their new collaboration is meant for both locals and tourists looking for a low-key spot for happy hour or a rowdy late-night scene. The 2,250-square-foot bar is an upscale dive of sorts, complete with rounded leather banquettes and gold disco lamps on the ceiling. Cocktails nod to old classics with modern twists, with happy hour specials offered daily from 3 to 8PM. 207 NE First St., Miami, 786.803.8087

You’re So Transparent
Clear spirits are the name of the game at the new Minnow Bar at the Angler’s Hotel, a lounge where piscos, cacha├žas and overproof white rums dominate the menu. Bartender Chris Resnick runs the scene here and his Rey Mambo (Jimador tequila, black pepper, mango shrub, fresh lime and basil) is what smart mixology is all about. 660 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, 305.534.9600

European Flair
Art by the likes of Warhol, Koons and Hirst and midcentury modern touches give the new AQ Bar at Acqualina a Parisian jazz club feel. This provides the perfect backdrop for signature cocktails such as the Mezcal Dreamer, a mix of mezcal, hibiscus flower syrup, cucumber and lemon. 17875 Collins Ave., Sunny Isles Beach, 844.366.8913
