For more than 25 years, this iconic vacation destination has provided unparalleled guest experiences for those seeking fun in the sun. Here, we outline three exciting reasons to book your next escape to paradise.

A vacation is always a good idea, especially come summertime. Atlantis Paradise Island, an award-winning oceanside resort in the Bahamas, continues to evolve and expand its exclusive offerings, from multimillion-dollar guest room renovations and new celebrity chef eateries to reintroducing a world-class casino with elevated gaming experiences in recent years. This summer, Atlantis announces three exciting activations that will further enhance its allure to travelers worldwide.

Whether you’re vacationing with family, friends or a significant other, read on to discover what Atlantis has in store for you during your upcoming stay.

The Barbie Debut

Atlantis has collaborated with global toy and family entertainment company Mattel to present “Barbie Bahamas Beach Vacation: Where Atlantis Dreams Come True,” a unique two-year collaboration that infuses the signature style of the world’s most popular doll throughout the resort.

Book a stay at Atlantis’ family-friendly hotel, The Coral, to create magical memories in Barbie paradise. Your themed suite or guest room will be adorned with pink walls, disco balls, doll-themed artwork and decorated mirrors for picture-perfect selfies. Be sure to stop by The Coral swimming pool’s Barbie lounge area, with private cabanas available, before watching a poolside screening of Barbie movies to close out your day of fandom fun.

“Barbie Boardwalk Adventure,” an immersive walkthrough activation at The Great Hall of Waters at The Royal, is a must on your Atlantis summer vacation itinerary. Step into the iconic doll’s world of playsets, a Barbie ball pit and endless photo-worthy moments, including life-sized Barbie doll boxes. Several of the island’s eateries will serve Barbie-themed culinary delights, such as pink pancakes, donuts and milkshakes at Murray’s Delicatessen, while The Coral’s ice cream parlor, Sun & Ice, transforms its interiors with a retro-style café counter, pink and blue tables and chairs and captivating Barbie art. Adults can enjoy pink and blue cocktails throughout the resort, like the Pink Paradise, made with vodka, coconut water, pink lemonade, pineapple and cranberry juice, and children can opt for a mocktail version of these Barbie beverages.

The Cuisine

Renowned Chef JJ Johnson, a culinary mastermind and a James Beard Foundation Award winner, joins the resort’s growing portfolio of award-winning chefs, further elevating Atlantis Paradise Island as the ultimate epicurean destination in the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

With three popular locations already in New York City, Johnson opens his fast-casual rice bowl shop, FIELDTRIP, in Atlantis this summer. Born out of chef Johnson’s belief that rice connects us all, FIELDTRIP is filled with global flavors centered around heirloom grains, hearty vegetables and sustainable proteins. Menu highlights include rice bowls such as locally sourced crispy fish with tartar sauce and pickled red onions, as well as shareable sides like sweet plantains with hot honey. To turn it up a notch, pair your meal with refreshing housemade drinks: We recommend adults spike the dragon fruit or pineapple ginger lemonade with their alcohol of choice.

The Nightlife

Summer splendor extends into the evening at Atlantis, especially thanks to Bar Sol, the newest nightlife venue located within the resort’s casino. Named after Atlantis’ founder Sol Kerzner, Bar Sol is a hub for Bahamian art, music and entertainment with craft cocktails equally as fabulous as the setting.

The critically acclaimed show, The Prince Experience, will debut on Aug. 2 at Bar Sol as lead performer Gabriel Sanchez pays tribute to the Purple Rain Era of Prince. The Purple One’s timeless tunes will be complete with eye-catching costumes and choreographed dances, so be ready to party like it’s 1999.

Music lovers will also find a star-studded lineup set to perform at the newly debuted venue’s Summer Solstice series. GRAMMY® nominated R&B singer and actor Montell Jordan will perform on July 27, and GRAMMY® award-winning artist Mya will launch Labor Day weekend with a performance on Aug. 31.
