Catch & Cook
Groups can do more than just cook with a chef. At The Confidante Miami Beach, they can also source their own ingredients. A new fishing and cooking experience invites groups aboard a 58-foot sport fisherman boat for a four-hour fishing expedition with Bird & Bone chef Richard Hales. Italian Lessons
If you’ve sampled the Italian bounty of La Centrale and feel inspired to step into the kitchen, the food hall’s La Cucina Cooking Studio has more than 40 cooking classes on tap, including workshops on pasta, Neapolitan pizza and a free Saturday cooking class for kids. Summer sees the addition of five new classes, including one on coffee and chocolate pairings, with Panther Coffee; another on coffee and cheese pairings, a risotto class, pastry class and a wine tasting. Fire it Up
Brush up on your summer barbecue skills with some expert guidance at the latest Grilling Masterclass at Faena Hotel’s Los Fuegos. This Saturday, chef de cuisine Cristian Menendez—apprentice of grill master Francis Mallmann—will teach guests Mallmann’s signature live-fire cooking techniques for dishes such as smoked shrimp a la plancha, salt-crusted whole red snapper and Mallmann’s famous beef tenderloin milanesa. On a Roll
It may seem intimidating, but after a class with Blade restaurant’s master sushi chef Deden Bandi, you’ll be rolling sushi like a boss. Chef Deden will guide participants in the Fontainebleau’s weekly Sushi 101 class on how to select the freshest fish and vegetables and combine them into exotic flavor combinations.
