5 Hidden-Gem Restaurants You Need to Visit

BY Michael Muzquiz | July 27, 2018 | Feature Features

They may not be on your radar, but these five eateries deserve a visit.
The Local House, Miami Beach

Beachside Charm
Inside the Sense Beach House Hotel, The Local House Miami is all about charm thanks to a lovely coastal chic interior that’s what Instagram posts are made of. Equally stellar is the menu, which is full of highlights. Order the truffle oil-fragrant lobster roll if you’re feeling indulgent or the salmon bowl with spinach, quinoa and strawberries if you want to be good. 400 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, 786.230.8396

Italian Interests
One of Wynwood’s newest entries, Sette Osteria is an outpost of the Washington, D.C. original by the same name. Authentic Italian rules the menu, which covers the basics and then some. Start with the grilled calamari or the farro salad before moving on to rather decadent pastas such as the homemade cavatelli with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe. 2103 NW Second Ave., Miami, 305.576.8282

Biscayne Find
Situated in what was once a car wash, LaSocial is a true winner thanks to its healthy and organic sandwiches, wraps, salads and fresh baked pastries. A smoothie or fresh juice (like mango ginger) is a must, as is the chicken red pepper panini with chicken breast, red pepper pesto and spinach. Don’t leave without trying one of the desserts. 7601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, 786.542.5922

Home, Sweet, Home
Regulars swear by the Mediterranean dishes at Cafe Roval, a hideaway of a restaurant from restaurateur Mark Soyka, which is located inside a historic coral building with a massive and charming garden. The seasonal menu by chef Curtis Rhodes includes highlights such as creamy gnocchi and spiny lobster with sweet corn, shiitake and basil. 5808 NE Fourth Court, Miami, 786.953.7850

Pizza Perfection
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a pie you don’t like at La Piazzetta, a pizza-centric eatery that’s just a few blocks from the Design District. The options here are plentiful, but our suggestion is to go for the San Leone, which features fresh mozzarella, porchetta, wild mushrooms, smoked mozzarella and oven-baked potatoes. 5143 NE Second Ave., Miami, 786.409.3693
