5 Spots to Watch the Game

BY Germaine Benson | October 7, 2016 | Feature Features

Whether it's football, soccer or hoops, these five venues have game day covered.
The game is always on at American Social.

1. College Club
The energy at American Social during a Florida State University game is electric, but don’t let that discourage you from coming here if you’re a Miami Hurricanes fan. All types of football fanatics are welcome! The eatery’s Saturday brunch alone is worth a visit thanks to a menu that includes favorites such as duck confit hash ($18) and steak eggs Benedict ($20). 690 SW First Court, Miami, 305.223.7004

2. All Stars
At Bar Louie, game day is always special thanks to the 30 cocktails on the menu. Our suggestion: Order an orange mule (made with vodka, blood orange liqueur and ginger beer) and one or two of the eatery’s flatbreads (the buffalo chicken is a particular favorite), sit back and relax. 3201 N. Miami Ave., Miami, 786.879.8260

3. Slam Dunk
While the Miami Heat is away, we still need to watch them play and Batch Gastropub has food and drink specials each and every day. This neighborhood tavern boats the exact ingredients needed for the perfect game-watching experience: chef-driven bites with locally sourced ingredients, plenty of flatscreen TVs and a late closing time in case the game goes into overtime. 30 SW 12th St., Miami, 305.808.5555

4. Goal Standard
With a variety of German and Austrian favorites on the menu, including beer and schnitzel, Fritz and Franz Bierhaus is where soccer fans go to catch their favorite teams in action. The Bavarian-themed bar broadcasts games from around the world, so your favorite team is bound to get some screen time. 60 Merrick Way, Coral Gables, 305.774.1883

5. Sunday Funday
Sundays at Tap 42 are all about the Miami Dolphins. Guests can cheer our hometown heroes as they catch the action on various large screens throughout the venue and order as many beers or Bloody Marys as they like for $15 a head from 11AM to 3PM. The comfort food menu isn’t too shabby either. 301 Giralda Ave., Coral Gables, 786.391.1566
