7th Annual Dolphins Cancer Challenge

| October 26, 2016 | Parties

The Related Group celebrated the start of the 7th annual Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) last week at the home of long-time DCC supporters Matt and Lisa Allen. The Team Related kick-off led to over 90 new registrations for the upcoming February 11th cycling/running event meant to raise funds for the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The student-run, non-for-profit organization “Scaring for Caring” was also active throughout the night and has raised over $100,000 for cancer research.
Launched in 2010 as the signature initiative of the Miami Dolphins Foundation, the DCC has been committed to raising funds for essential cancer research through their cycling, 5k and fall family fest events. The DCC has quickly grown to be the largest fundraising effort across the entire National Football League (NFL) and has donated over $16.5 million in support of cancer research.
As Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of The Related Group and Board Member of the DCC, Matt Allen has personally raised over $600,000 for the DCC. He also serves as captain of Team Related and has led the team to raise over $1M over the past 7 years.
