We notice it every time we walk through the doors at The Standard or the 1 Hotel. Custom scents piped in through a venue’s cooling system have a surefire way of establishing brand recognition. Now, thanks to Aroma360, we can have that same olfactory experience at home with help from the experts at the company’s new showroom in Wynwood. “Anyone can customize a scent,” says founder Farah Abassi, a Vancouver transplant who got her start at Sage, a Canadian wellness company that specializes in essential oils. “It’s similar to going to a caterer for a tasting or an atelier for a dress or suit.” At Aroma360, the process is simple enough. Customers meet with an aromochologist (yes, that’s a thing) who learns about who they are, what their life is like and what they’re hoping to achieve with a signature scent. Clients then choose from the various notes offered by Abassi or work with her team to create a one-of-a-kind bouquet. Aroma360’s line offers nearly 100 fragrances (from sandalwood to Tuscan leather and everything in between) as well as products such as diffusers, candles and soaps.
