As Flavio Moy sees it, good vibrations are critical to a balanced life.

Twelve years ago, Flavio Moy (healershaman.com) was a Florida International University communications graduate working as a real estate investor. On a whim he took a visit to his native Peru—more specifically, Machu Picchu—where he says he saw and felt the Earth’s energy shift. “When it happened it turned my life upside down,” he recalls. The experience set Moy on a worldwide spiritual journey, culminating in Cuzco, where he was initiated as a Peruvian shaman and mystic. He eventually became an ordained shaman and master energy healer, determined to help others find balance in their lives. “Shamanism is all about power and adjusting a person’s energy field to increase their potential, health and success,” he explains. “In traditional shamanism we believe in alignment. There is no reason you shouldn’t be happy, healthy and harmonious.” Today, Moy offers shamanic counseling, healings, home blessings and trainings, seeing a range of clients for sessions that typically last an hour. He also recently started hosting semiannual trips to Peru with the goal of helping others experience spiritual activations of their own. Yet, he says, Miami has plenty to offer in that department, too: “We’re surrounded by Mother Nature, the Everglades are close by, we have Native Americans here, and there’s history. There’s a lot of spirituality all around us.”
