Evoking the ethereal atmosphere of the Mediterranean coast, the wildly popular restaurant concept Aba has arrived in Miami’s Bal Harbour Shops, joining its roster of sister properties in Chicago and Austin.

Created by executive partner and divisional president Marc Jacobs, alongside Top Chef alum CJ Jacobson, Aba incorporates a lighter style of cooking with influences hailing from Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and Greece. Highlights from the menu include the range of hummus and mezze spreads served with housemade bread, black garlic shrimp scampi with Parmesan bread crumbs, and the shawarma-spiced skirt steak with mushroom jus. And of course, your meal is simply incomplete without a sweet ending of Greek yogurt drizzled in olive oil and sea salt flakes.

The 250-plus-seat restaurant invokes the spirit of a coastal summer from the menu to the decor. Its lush interior dining room features earthy tones and natural elements that bring the outside in, anchored by grand olive trees, climbing ivy, hanging plants and potted trees. Vintage-sourced light pendants accent the space, including original Holophane Parisian street lamps and gold Moroccan fixtures.

A charming arched hallway connects both ends of the restaurant, with ivory and cream-textured walls that ensconce furniture bedecked in rich brown leathers, wicker and teak. The outdoors meets the indoors by way of grand French-style operable doors that open to a breezy ground-floor patio where guests can dine alfresco. Just a few steps upstairs will lead guests to the second-floor mezzanine featuring an intimate bar and additional outdoor seating, serving as the perfect space for events and celebrations.
