Alberto Linero Gallery at Wynwood Art Fair

| September 15, 2011 | Calendar

Alberto Linero Gallery presents an uncanny interpretation of “body painting” by guest artist Cristina Botero during the Wynwood Art Fair (October 21 – 23, 2011). Using fluorescent acrylic paint, Botero will wear a white leotard and use her limbs and appendages to apply the paint on a white canvas directly outside of the contemporary Wynwood gallery. Completing the pieces, created without the use of brushes or other instruments, Botero’s leotard will take on the flamboyant shades of pink, blue and green, complementing the canvas masterpiece. Botero’s work comes full circle with the final painting and her body, used as a tool to complete her work.

Botero debuted her performance at 21 years old at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Lauderdale. She has since performed over 15 live paintings at respected galleries including American Fine Art Soho, Greely Square Gallery and the Rosenberg Gallery (NYU) in New York. For more information, please visit
