Designed by award-winning Miami-based architect G. Alvarez Studio, the interior was inspired by the soft form of a woman’s shape with unique elements like custom curved doors with continuous cove lighting, alongside elegant marble and plaster that blanket the space that creates a monastic and timeless look with a touch of the unusual. Alexis Renda, the aesthete behind it all, proudly supported local businesses when considering every detail, from the florist, Ana Carrera, to the vintage curator, Casa de Barcelona in Little River. Below, we chat with the founders about their new skincare sanctuary. 4203 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Unit 110, Coral Gables, alexislauren.com

What inspired you to start your own beauty collective?
AR: When we moved to Miami several years ago, I was looking for a place for injectables and facials, and I couldn’t find an experience I loved. So my husband and I started discussing what was missing in the space and what it would take to open a beauty collective that was luxurious and offered bespoke treatments that really catered to the client and their needs. We wanted to marry the concept of injectables with high-end, curated skincare treatments.
Tell us about your beauty approach and what someone could expect during a custom facial.
AR: Skincare is not a one-size-fits- all. Our bespoke custom facials aim to transform the skin through cutting-edge treatments, complemented by our product lines that include cult-favorite Biologique Recherche, Skinbetter Science and iS Clinical. Your custom facial can include dermaplaning, microcurrent, bio-electrotherapy (low to high frequencies), diamond microdermabrasion, radio frequency, Biosonix ultrasound, oxygen infusion and LED light with negative ion therapy and more. Our incredible estheticians incorporate different techniques and facial massages to achieve toned, refined, lifted and radiant skin.

As a trauma surgeon, what is your medical influence at Alexis Lauren Collective?
MR: The ability to take care of patients with catastrophic injuries and traumatic burns has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of wound healing and our body’s resilience. This translates into the aesthetic realm as many of the skincare products and procedures are designed to remodel the skin at a cellular level to elicit the body’s wound healing response. For example, Sculptra is designed to act as a catalyst to induce new collagen formation, which helps redefine facial features for a more youthful look. Everything in medicine always boils down to the basic building blocks of biology, and that is no different for the aesthetic space.

What is your earliest beauty obsession?
AR: I had so many obsessions and they were not great, ha! Do you remember Sea Breeze and St. Ives apricot scrub?
