The welcome desk at the new ARCA showroom
Upon approaching the new ARCA in Wynwood, visitors quickly realize that the venue is much more than a design showroom. On ARCA’s facade is a commissioned installation by the Danish artist group Superflex incorporating two types of ceramic tiles that immediately catch the eye. This artistic vibe continues inside, where a 4,000-pound desk made from a monolith greets visitors. On the ground floor, videos of ARCA’s quarries are projected in the reception area. Soon comes the double-height stone gallery, where a display of massive slabs of marble (all available for sale) are presented like artworks. The second floor echoes that approach with vignettes that incorporate ARCA’s selections of natural and manufactured woods, ceramics, tile and porcelain. “We want to provide a space for designers, architects and builders to learn, be inspired and create,” says ARCA USA CEO Jose Fernandez. “We offer a new way for customers to select materials by first exploring their nature, origin and potential.” 260 NW 27th St., Miami, 786.633.5931, gpoarca.com
