Arias & Applause

| March 4, 2016 | Parties

THE OCCASION Hitting the decade mark is always worthy of celebration. That’s why the Cleveland Orchestra Miami pulled out all the stops to celebrate its 10th anniversary with cultural panache of the operatic kind. THE CROWD Chairs Jeffrey and Susan Feldman welcomed more than 350 guests to the two-part evening, including gala sponsors Patrick Park, Sue Miller, Jan R. Lewis and Ginger Warner. THE HIGHLIGHTS The affair began at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts with a concert led by Music Director Franz Welser-Möst featuring world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming, which culminated in a standing ovation. After the performance, attendees headed south to the InterContinental hotel for cocktails, supper and conversation. Fleming graciously chatted with fans and posed for photos, and applause came again when a video chronicling the orchestra’s history in Miami was presented. When all was said and done, the event raised nearly $600,000 for the CO’s efforts. –Photography by Manny Hernandez & Kane Velasquez
