Artistic Dialogue

| February 4, 2014 | Parties

Basel wasn’t all about parties. In between the late-night shenanigans, some serious art discourse actually took place. To wit: Surface used the occasion to hold the sixth installment of its Design Dialogues, a series of talks that brings artistic talents together for insight into their professions. This particular edition, moderated by gallerist Hans Ulrich Obrist, featured a panel with architect Jacques Herzog, one half of the Herzog & de Meuron duo, and the one and only Kanye West. Both men talked about their most recent artistic efforts and a host of other topics. True to form, West was as out-there as ever, but everyone was listening. –Photos by Getty Images & Seth Browarnik/World Red Eye
