Mexican eatery bartaco recently welcomed its third location to Miami, this time in the vibrant neighborhood of Coconut Grove. The newest outpost is unique among the pack, serving as the flagship Miami location with plans of becoming the neighborhood's go-to hub for tacos and coastal vibes.
Residing in a restored 1973 building, the two-story establishment pays homage to the city’s roots with a green and white color palette and Art Deco-style details throughout the décor. The wraparound second floor surrounds a cavernous light-filled atrium, while design details such as the arched stucco walls and vintage pendant lights accentuate the outdoorsy, verdant theme.
Inspired by the beach culture of Brazil, Uruguay and Southern California, bartaco offers a coastal take on upscale street food with a scratch-made menu. The menu offerings also happen to be inherently gluten-free, ranging from the tacos to the rice bowls to the salads. Choose from popular taco orders such as the duck birria, pork belly and baja fish or delight in signature dishes such as the chicken tortilla soup and tuna tatako, served in a crispy Bibb lettuce wrap.
Families need not worry as the kids can munch on the signature kid’s tray that includes a quesadilla, a taco of choice, corn wheels and a fruit skewer. Last but not least, bartaco’s signature churros with chocolate sauce and vanilla sauce are a must for anyone with a sweet tooth.
The cocktails are handcrafted with emphasis on margaritas made with fresh-squeezed juices. For a “healthier” take on a margarita, guests can order the signature Green Margarita, a refreshing combination of fresh-squeezed spinach, pineapple and mango juice.
