Beach Bash, Baby!

| August 21, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY Style met tanned skin and tight abs at Splashion, Miami magazine’s annual unofficial (and much-anticipated) kickoff to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. In other words: models, bikinis, cocktails! THE CROWD Nightlife types, swimwear fans, Miami readers and city VIPs all waited in line and posed on the red carpet before making their way inside the party. Among the guests were W Hotel owner David Edelstein, philanthropist Sarah Arison, arts consultant Susanne Birbragher and many, many others. THE SCENE Can you say crowded? As in the 800-plus revelers who packed into LIV for the evening. The highlights of the night were plentiful. Following a performance by the Kulture Shock trio, DJ 360 spun ’80s tunes as models strutted down the middle of the club on an elevated catwalk dressed in designs from Aquarius, La Martina, Jantzen, Bikini Flavors, Perry Ellis Swim and other brands. Cointreau cocktails, Coco Brevé malt drinks and Stella Artois beer kept guests socially lubricated. And long after the show and strutting were over, no one wanted to leave.
