Body Beautiful
Five years ago, Gee Beauty made its U.S. debut at Bal Harbour Shops with an intimate 650-square-foot product studio that immediately won the city over. Now that it’s relocated to Sunset Harbour and nearly doubled its square footage, sisters and co-owners Natalie and Celene Gee are taking their beauty game to the next level.
Like the original Gee Beauty location in their hometown of Toronto, this new location also boasts 6 By Gee Beauty, a successful adjacent concept offering lifestyle apparel and accessories, jewelry and a made-to-order Le Labo fragrance bar. “In Miami, there’s more of a head-to-toe [approach],” Natalie explains. “We’re evolving beauty into a lifestyle.”
Now, while clients shop for Oribe hair masques and Marvis toothpastes, they can also scoop up sunglasses, earrings and voluminous blouses from Style Mafia, and patched Josie Bruno Vintage jackets. After that, they can get their nails done, their lashes extended and their makeup applied, and enjoy a series of new, high-tech facial treatments, including the Medi Multi Hydra ($275), which incorporates LED light, a superserum application and Intraceuticals Oxygen infusion. “We don’t judge,” Celene swears. “We repair.”
As for the already dizzying array of notable brands Gee Beauty continues to carry, which include Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, Dr Sebagh and GB’s own cosmetics and makeup brushes, the ladies have also added a wealth of ingestibles like Elle MacPherson’s Super Elixir ($135) and The Beauty Chef’s AntiOxidant Inner Beauty Boost ($40). “Miami is getting more and more holistic,” Natalie asserts. “It’s much more about mind-and-body beauty from the inside out. We love that balance.” And it shows. 1845 Purdy Ave., Miami Beach, 305.868.3533
