Miami’s philanthropic, business, and community leaders reunited for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami for The Art of the Match Gala. Raising more than $1.3 million and far exceeding the goal, the event featured dancing, an auction and impactful match stories about the organization.

As BBBS’s signature event, the gala helps cover the cast of matching adult mentors with mentees.
“With the theme ‘The Art of the Match Gala: The Remix,’ we aim to uplift our mission to greater heights together and reveal our shared big achievements. The event was a huge success with amazing food, an unforgettable performance by Wyclef Jean accompanied by one of our very own Littles,” said Gale Nelson, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami.
In addition to a special guest performance by Wyclef Jean, the evening included performances by Groove Republik and presentations by mentees Caleb, Likem, and Lashon, who spoke about their experiences and successes within the youth mentoring program— all three are now working professionals who acknowledge the impact the organization had on their lives.

“Our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami is to ignite the potential of every child in our community through mentorship, support, and opportunity,” Nelson added. “Our annual gala is a vital opportunity for us to raise further awareness of our organization and the necessary funds to continue our mission and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children in our community. With the support of our generous donors, we can help build a brighter future for the youth of Miami.”
