The Event
Like a fine wine, Miami’s annual Splashion celebration only seems to get better with age. For its sixth edition, the unofficial kick off to Swim Week upped the ante with a new venue (The Fillmore Miami Beach), enhanced programming and gourmet bites galore.
The Crowd
More than 1,000 attendees at this year’s swimwearcentric bash made for a diverse group of party-happy characters. Among the guests making the rounds were photographer Manolo Doreste, concierges Luiz Hoinkis and Justin Keeperman, superchef Fabio Viviani, realtors Katy and Dario Stoka, and a bevy of South Beach’s beautiful people.
The Highlights
Things got started early with a VIP hour that treated a select few to tastings from Florida Cookery and Siena Tavern, and cocktails from elit by Stolichnaya. Later on, once guests were settled in the theater hall of The Fillmore, the lights dimmed and the Norwegian duo of Nico & Vinz took the stage for a spirited performance. Post concert, fashion ruled with a catwalk show featuring the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders wearing styles from La Martina, My Best Friend’s Closet and a slew of other brands. As the party started to wind down, sugar cravings kicked in, and folks stormed the DIY station by Dylan’s Candy Bar for a sweet ending to a red-letter evening. –Photography by Brett Hufziger & Posh Panel
