Nestled behind lush greenery, tucked away from the bustling Brickell Ave., lies Major Food Group’s latest gem: Chateau ZZ’s. While the powerhouse hospitality group is known for its striking restaurant debuts throughout the city, this latest opening is a special one, serving as the only French Chateau in Miami, revived to modern-day sophistication while still preserving its 1930s private residence charm. Spanning two floors with a unique sense of seclusion, Chateau ZZ’s marries old-world sophistication and modern charm with dazzling interiors by MFG longtime collaborator and renowned interior designer Ken Fulk.
“There’s no mansion in Miami that comes even close to matching the uniqueness of this property,” says Jeff Zalaznick, co-founder of Major Food Group. “It’s an unbelievable destination that feels as if it was built for MFG and the creation of Chateau ZZ’s.”

Upon viewing the palatial masterpiece, the MFG team knew it was the perfect fit for where they wanted to take the brand next. And they continued the magic by dabbling in a totally fresh cuisine, presenting a menu of upscale Mexican dishes with an MFG flare.
“We’ve been wanting to try our hand at Mexican cuisine for a while now,” shares Mario Carbone, MFG co-founder and chef. “I’ve kept a number of Mexican-inspired recipes over the years, and it was about time we brought these flavors to the table.”
You’ll find no shortage of decadent delights on the menu, spanning from luxe starters like the Wagyu truffle tostada to Michelada oysters, gambas al ajillo, or the signature Mexican Caesar salad. The main dishes steal the show, presented with a colorful array of tongue-tantalizing sauces, garnishes, and perfectly seasoned meats and fish.

“Each main course is served with freshly steamed flour tortillas made in-house according to tradition, accompanied by a litany of colorful salsas and sauces and an abundant plate of radishes, herbs, limes, and other fresh garnishes,” shares Carbone. “My favorite is the strip steak al pastor, grilled with al pastor spices and fresh pineapple.”
Continuing the journey, Chateau offers an extensive selection of signature cocktails with a heavy emphasis on the margarita, served with fresh juices and flavor combinations that transport you through the meal. However, the crown jewel is Chateau’s selection of agave-based spirits, boasting over 1,000 tequilas and mezcals that, upon looking closely, present rare bottlings and vintages that can’t be found elsewhere.
Whether in the breathtaking solarium that feels out of a movie to the chic interior dining rooms, dining outside in the courtyard, or lounging with libations at the bar, each unique space inside the Chateau feels as if you’re entering a new experience. On the second floor, guests will find the member’s space for ZZ’s Club members, which features cozy lounge seating, a sultry private bar, and outdoor seating for warmer nights.

“Chateau ZZ’s is designed to offer a diverse and dynamic dining experience, spearheaded by Major Food Group’s in-house design team and the legendary Ken Fulk,” notes Carbone. “Each space within our establishment has its own unique ambiance and personality, intentionally crafted to evoke the palatial buildings you can find in certain neighborhoods of Mexico City like La Condessa and Roma. From our intimate and moody bars to the vibrant and lively dining rooms and solarium, we want each area to leave an indelible impression, ensuring that every visit offers something new to explore and enjoy.”
He continues, “Taking on Chateau ZZ’s is like turning the pages of Miami’s history and adding our own chapter. We’re talking about a piece of Miami’s heritage, a property that has stood the test of time and seen the city evolve. Our goal was to breathe new life into this historic gem, blending its timeless elegance with our flair for the extraordinary. Every corner of this estate tells a story, and we’re honored to preserve and celebrate its legacy. It’s not just about creating another restaurant; it’s about respecting and continuing a tradition, a story that’s uniquely Miami. Th at’s what makes Chateau ZZ’s special.” 1500 Brickell Ave., Miami, chateauzzs.com
