Curious to create and look for affordable artwork for your home? The 61st Coconut Grove Arts Festival is a must-visit, offering interactive making experiences and handiwork by more than 285 international artists and artisans. The jury was selected from over 1000 applications. Open daily from Feb. 15 to 17 and boasting breathtaking Biscayne Bay views, the festival is one of the largest and arguably one of the most beautiful outdoor events of its kind in the United States.

“Set in the heart of Miami-Dade County, one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas, the festival atmosphere attracts diverse audiences, making it perfect for both established and first-time art collectors,” explains Executive Director Camille Marchese.

The daytime event is presented by the Coconut Grove Arts & Historical Association, which was founded by Charlie Cinnamon, a theater fan who, in 1963, enticed local artists to create an outdoor exhibition for a production at Coconut Grove Playhouse. Since this creative publicity stunt, the festival has grown into a fully-fledged annual South Florida highlight.

“Last year, artists achieved an astounding $3 million in sales, grounding Coconut Grove Arts Festival as a lucrative opportunity,” continues Marchese. “With over $300,000 spent on marketing, we draw thousands of visitors eager to discover and invest in artwork.”

This year, the festival is presented by First Horizon National Bank. The upcoming experience promises multimedia collectibles, painting and crafting lessons, art appreciation for kids and live art with craft beer for ‘of age’ patrons. Visitors can also purchase VIP lounge tickets for a discerning festival experience. Cgaf.com
