CocoWalk, an open-air lifestyle center in the heart of Coconut Grove's commercial district, has announced the first-ever free community Candlelight Concert series. Beginning in November, the courtyard at CocoWalk will be filled with hundreds of candles and the sounds of music legends such as ABBA, Beyonce, and Queen, creating a one-of-a-kind, live, multi-sensory musical experience for the community.
Candlelight Concerts are a Fever Original experience that allows people worldwide to enjoy live music and candlelit performances played by local musicians in various stunning venues that form part of each city's cultural heritage. They are currently present in over 100 cities worldwide, and for the first time, CocoWalk will be added to its list of spectacular locations. The candlelit concert series, set beneath a 60-foot Kapok tree, will highlight the area's tropical oasis and create an enchanting environment under the moonlight for guests to enjoy a variety of musical genres. Each Candlelight location has been carefully selected to elevate the listening experience, creating a serene atmosphere that will sweep you off your feet.
"We are thrilled to activate the CocoWalk courtyard with the first-of-its-kind complimentary concert experience in partnership with Candlelight," said Brittany Lawrence, CocoWalk Marketing Manager. "Historically, the Grove has been known as a creative enclave where musicians would gather. Now that it is dubbed as Miami's coolest neighborhood, we are excited to bring music back to the heart of the Grove, providing our community with a magnificent experience."
The concerts happen on the third Friday of each month. The series began on Nov. 18 with professional musicians performing a tribute to ABBA's most iconic songs, including "Mamma Mia," "Fernando," and "Dancing Queen." On Dec. 16, guests can experience Beyonce's most female-empowering songs and favorite Queen B chart-topping hits, from "Crazy in Love" to "Irreplaceable," in a spectacular setting. Whether you listened to them in the 70s or are a fan of "Bohemian Rhapsody," British Rock band Queen's notable tracks will echo from the courtyard on Jan. 20 for the grand finale concert.
"With the Candlelight concerts, we will continue to create events to cultivate the city's unique venues as we contribute to making culture accessible to people who wouldn't normally have access to classical music. CocoWalk serves as a central gathering point in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, making it the perfect setting for a community Candlelight concert series", said Dana Moutis, Fever Originals Regional Manager for Americas.
The Candlelight concert series at CocoWalk is the ideal intimate, breathtaking setting for a girls' night out or a romantic date night. Narbona Market & Restaurant will offer a personal charcuterie board for $17 that includes Narbona's Reggiano cheese, manchego cheese, gouda cheese, dried salami, dried fruit, and mixed nuts. Two glasses of Narbona's branded house red blend or white wine are available for $14. While registering for the event, attendees can purchase their charcuterie board and wine.
CocoWalk's restaurants also pay tribute to Queen B with concert-themed menu items. For example, the iconic Planta Queen offers The Planta Queen Bey ($30) with ahi watermelon, baked crab roll, sake, and Sake to Me ($15), both vegan options. Botanico Gin will serve Beyonce-inspired cocktails such as the 'Beyhive' Bee's Knees, made with gin, honey, and fresh lemon juice and served chilled in a martini glass; and "Drunk in Love" Lemonade made with Bourbon and freshly made lemonade and served on the rocks in a highball glass.
Candlelight Concerts are a series of intimate classical music concerts that aim to democratize access to classical music by allowing people from all over the world to enjoy the works of great composers such as Vivaldi, Chopin, and Beethoven. With 70% of attendees under 40, this Fever Original concept introduces classical music to a new demographic. The ever-expanding list of programs includes a wide range of themes and genres other than classical, such as jazz, pop, movie soundtracks, and ballet, as well as tributes to contemporary artists such as Queen, Coldplay, and Taylor Swift. Candlelight Concerts are performed by talented local musicians in beautiful settings that are part of each city's cultural heritage.
