COYO Taco is rapidly expanding over South Florida, one taco at a time.

The popular trendy eatery has opened a new location in South Miami, where the former Spring Chicken was. Recently COYO Taco opened on the famous Las Olas Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale.
This new location will serve COYO Tacos' signature recipes like authentic tacos, burritos, handmade tortillas, and aguas frescas in a traditional taqueria setting prepared with its 'Todo es Fresco' ('Everything is Fresh') philosophy. This new spot features a sportier theme with surrounding TVs and is directly across from the University of Miami.
With COYO's reputation of throwing the best parties, locals and students can expect fabulous watch parties and game-day specials. All students and faculty members will receive 10% off (with ID proof) at this location.
Like at COYO's sister locations, a lively environment will be present, with live DJs. The bar will have a large selection of tequilas, mezcals, and craft cocktails, including 'The U,' a tribute to the University of Miami created with Maestro Dobel Diamante, Midori pineapple, passionfruit, and lime juice ($12). Locals and students can take advantage of happy hour, offering half-priced select drinks. Women can enjoy complimentary margaritas every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
"South Miami used to trend older, but I see a younger demographic emerging with a great new vibe. The neighborhood is becoming a burgeoning culinary scene, and we're thrilled to open in the middle of it. Last but not least.... it's great to be a Miami Hurricane!" said Co-Founder Sven Vogtland.
The menus will focus on robust, traditional flavors utilizing sustainable ingredients with a range of home-cooked entrees, handmade tortillas made from scratch, and guacamole created in-house daily. Guacamole cooked to order, Tacos, Burritos, and Quesadillas are among the most popular dishes offered with various meats such as carnitas de pato and camaron hongos y huitlacoche, and more. There are also vegan and vegetarian options available, like Daring Foods' innovative plant-based chicken. Visitors may sample their special edition Birria Taco ($11) cooked with beef brisket and seasoned with guajillo and ancho chiles, cinnamon, and oregano, and served with a typical Mexican broth for dipping from February to April.
The interior is decorated with blue banquets, seats, and a half-circular booth that may accommodate larger groups. Juan Rozas, a local artist, also created an unusual design inspired by Mexico's lush cacti fields, which will hang from the ceiling with string lights.
On May 1, COYO Taco will introduce the 305 Quesadilla ($15), which includes queso mixto, swiss cheese, smoked ham, roasted pork, mustard, chipotle salsa, cotija, and sour cream. This new item will be available for takeout and delivery at all South Florida locations.
This location is located at 1514 South Dixie Highway in Coral Gables and is open Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Takeout and delivery will be available on all major platforms. For additional information, visit the website.
