Dance Party

| March 1, 2016 | Parties National

It was a frigid night by South Florida standards, but weather was not going to keep guests from attending the much-buzzed-about Miami City Ballet’s 30th Anniversary Gala, a party that proved the company is as vibrant as ever.

VIP to say the least, the affair was crowded by a who’s-who of folks who have supported the company over the years. Among them were MCB co-founder Toby Lerner Ansin, Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez and gala chairs Susan D. Kronick, Edward Manno, Ana and Robert Barlick, and Tina and Dan Carlo.

Held in a massive tent on the sands behind the W South Beach, the evening’s celebratory spirit was obvious from the get-go. A post-cocktail hour fireworks display let guests know the dinner portion of the affair was beginning. Cheers were loud when Lopez introduced the company’s dancers, and the room erupted into applause when Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine took the podium to declare Jan. 23, 2016 as Miami City Ballet Day.
