Delicate Matters

| February 4, 2014 | Parties

“Don’t step on the art,” was heard one too many times at the cocktail party to celebrate Crystalactite, the avant-garde new jewelry collection by Atelier Swarovski by Maison Martin Margiela. That’s because artist Baptiste Debombourg covered certain areas of the boutique in an inconspicuous installation he called Stalker, a series of glass-resin sculptures that certain guests couldn’t help but walk right into. As they did their best to avoid destroying Debombourg’s creation, guests like Brian Atwood, Renzo Rosso, Katherine Cocke and Rachel Heller worked their way around the store sipping Champagne and discussing their Basel party strategy for the evening. –Photos by & World Red Eye
