Set to debut at the end of the year, MIKA, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Michael White, will offer the community rich local offerings and meticulously crafted dishes, transporting guests to the Mediterranean Riviera one bite at a time.

In the vibrant heart of Coral Gables, an exciting new culinary venture is poised to redefine the dining landscape of South Florida. Chef Michael White is celebrated for his six Michelin stars and as the founding chef of Marea, New York City’s iconic coastal restaurant. He is set to unveil MIKA, his first stand-alone establishment in the Sunshine State.
At MIKA, guests can expect an exquisite fusion of White’s revered Riviera-inspired cuisine and the rich local offerings of South Florida. The menu will be a captivating tapestry of innovative crudos, expertly crafted handmade pastas, and masterfully grilled proteins. Signature dishes such as langoustine carpaccio, fusilli with octopus and bone marrow, and rosemary sea salt bistecca alla Fiorentina promise to transport diners to the sun-kissed coasts of Italy, all while celebrating the freshest seafood and produce the region has to offer.
Unlike his renowned fine dining establishments, MIKA is designed to be an inviting neighborhood gem that marries the chef’s culinary artistry with a refreshing emphasis on warm hospitality. The atmosphere will be convivial, a gathering place where each dish tells a story and every meal is a shared experience. This venture comes to life through a collaboration with notable partners Alex Pirez, founder of the esteemed Mocca Group, and seasoned food and beverage operator Matt Safchik, whose vision for MIKA aligns with Coral Gables' burgeoning food scene. Designed by Paul Bishop of Bishop Design in partnership with Pirez, MIKA captures a refined blend of raw, weathered beauty and elegance, drawing inspiration from timeless Mediterranean destinations shaped by history and natural elements. Together, they’ve cultivated a space that resonates with the local community while preserving a distinct culinary identity.
Chef Michael White’s illustrious career has seen him refine his craft, drawing inspiration from nearly a decade immersed in Italian culture and culinary techniques. His menus consistently celebrate the Mediterranean Riviera, showcasing the region's bountiful flavors. White’s accolades, including six Michelin stars and a James Beard Award, are a testament to his dedication and prowess in the kitchen.
