Earth Day Happy Hour

| April 12, 2012 | Calendar

Area 31 and its Executive Chef E. Michael Reidt have teamed up with Paradise Farms to create a new garden on its 16th floor sky deck terrace. The garden will be sprinkled throughout the patio area and will contain fresh herbs and small produce.

In honor of the new garden’s debut, Area 31 will host a special happy hour on Friday, April 20 from 6 to 10 pm with a portion of the proceeds from the event benefitting local non-profit Roots in the City.

Guests will enjoy specialty priced $5 garden cocktails including the Exhalation (organic basil infused vodka, cucumber-agave purée, soda) and the Organic Mojito (home-grown mint, organic cachaça) both normally priced at $12. From 6 to 10pm, $5 glasses of beer, house wine, cocktails and prosecco will also be available.

Earth Day inspired menu-specials filled with produce hand-picked by the restaurant’s staff will be available on Area 31’s dinner menu and will include:

  • Salt Roasted Beet Salad (heirloom tomatoes, local flower vinaigrette, green goddess - $12)
  • Cobia Crudo (lime gelée, mango, radish, pickled garlic chive - $13)
  • Hog Snapper (local farm honey glazed turnips, charred cipollini onion, red custard apple, radish - $27)
  • Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder (romesco sauce, pickled mustard seed, celery, piave cheese - $26)

These menu specials will be available nightly from April 18 through Earth Day on April 22. For more information, please call Area 31 at 305.424.5234 or visit www.area31restaurant.com.
