What practices do you consider integral to others, and how do you incorporate wellness practices into your everyday routine?
Eating a well-balanced organic diet, regular exercise, prioritizing quality sleep, acupuncture, spending time outdoors and cultivating gratitude are daily wellness practices. Living in Miami offers unique wellness opportunities, including enjoying the ocean and outdoor activities year-round. These are treasures many of us overlook but can significantly enhance our well-being.
What is a prominent misconception about integrative and Traditional Chinese Medicine?
A common misconception is acupuncture is “alternative” medicine, but Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a comprehensive, time-tested medical system. It encompasses dietary health, herbal remedies, gua sha, balancing energies, and, of course, acupuncture. At Helia House (elizabethtrattner.com,) I collaborate with patients’ physicians and combine TCM with Western medicine to offer a holistic, integrative medical approach to ensure they receive well-rounded care.
How do you stay motivated to maintain a regular exercise routine?
Muscle is the organ of longevity. At a particular stage in life, it’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling vibrant and strong. I’ve practiced Pilates for 27 years, and I love walking outdoors and swimming in the ocean. Having activities that bring joy makes it easier to stay consistent.
Women’s health is a topic that isn’t discussed frequently; what do you think are a few topics women should be more informed about to improve future changes they see as they get older?
As someone who’s navigated midlife changes and guided decades of women through this transition, I can say it’s possible to approach this phase with love and intention. Getting older is a privilege, and while Miami is a city that celebrates youth, we need to embrace the natural stages of aging. Women should feel empowered to adapt their wellness routines, stay informed about hormonal health and prioritize practices that support physical and emotional resilience during this change.

What are your top three products you cannot live without?
I love everything Ayuna Less is Beauty, which I carry at Helia House; my morning matcha, by Matcha Kari; and while not a product, my salt pool and ocean help induce Blue Mind, a neutral state of calmness.
