Cafeina, the lounge, art gallery and garden in the Wynwood Art District, is proud to present its “Eyes Wide Shut” New Year’s Eve 2012 celebration, featuring sounds by DJs Supersede and Santiago Caballero. Beginning at 9 p.m., the manor-esque lounge will be reincarnated in the spirit of Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 drama film, featuring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Expect festive décor, an iron cage operated by a leather-clad temptress, and a dominatrix flip book-producing photo booth. Guests are encouraged to don their most scintillatingly elegant attire, such as Venetian masks, capes and other provocative novelties. Complimentary masks and party favors will also be provided to help set the tone for the evening, as revelers ring in 2012 with a live feed of New York City’s Times Square ball drop in the lush outdoor garden.
Individual general admission tickets ($90 advance/$120 door) include premium open bar from 9 p.m. to midnight and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. “Traumnovelle” table packages, named after the novella on which the “Eyes Wide Shut” film was based, include “Cult Revelry,” ($167.50 per person for a table of four) which includes one bottle of Johnnie Walker Black whiskey or Ketel One vodka, or the “Circle of Secrets,” ($150 per person for a table of eight) featuring Ketel One and Johnnie Walker. Each package provides one bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, in addition to signature hors d’oeuvres and valet for one car.
