Fendi debuts its summer 2021 capsule collection with a total takeover of the Miami Design District.
Flash back to eras past—namely, the psychedelic ’70s and kitschy ’90s—with Fendi’s summer 2021 FF Vertigo capsule collection, launched May 13. Following a previous partnership with New York-based artist Sarah Coleman for Design Miami in 2020, Coleman has reunited with accessories and menswear artistic director Silvia Venturini Fendi, culminating in a new interpretation of the classic FF logo pattern. Enter the FF Vertigo, a twisted and turned version of the iconic FF logo viewed through a chic yet slightly trippy filter straight from the 1970s. The reinvented print can be found on many of the brand’s ready-to-wear items and the re-edition of the Baguette 1997 bag, as well as a variety of outdoor adventure-inspired limited edition items such as a flashy vintage Polaroid camera, camping equipment set with a tent and men’s technical backpack, and even a paddle board.
To celebrate the launch, Fendi is taking it back to where it all began—the Magic City. From May 20 through July 5, the beloved brand is taking over OTL Restaurant in the Design District and transforming it into FENDI CAFFE. Inspired by the new collection, the space will be decked out in yellow FF Vertigo prints, custom Fendi table settings and myriad branded elements that double as prime real estate for an Insta-worthy pic or two. The pop-up menu boasts Italian-inspired specialties, serving up light breakfast fare, salads and decadent entrees, such as baked Faroe Island salmon and parmesan and truffle risotto. Indulge in an Aperol spritz al fresco or perk up with an FF cappuccino—you truly can’t go wrong.
And that’s not all! Open for a limited time from May 20 to June 3, the Peekaboo Bar gives guests the ability to customize their own Mini Peekaboo bag. With a range of colors and materials available for the body of the bag, handles, Defender covers and straps, there are over 90 components from which to choose, ensuring that each creation is entirely unique. Plus, for this very special occasion, Peekaboo custom offerings will include new materials and metallic tones, from denim and leather to special embroidery, satin and even a selection of exotic skins.
With civilization coming alive again, this summer is guaranteed to be one for the books. From midday luncheons and shopping sprees to hiking trails and camping trips, Fendi’s summer 2021 capsule collection is sure to keep you looking effortlessly trendy on-the-go. Now available at Fendi boutiques worldwide and fendi.com.
