Ferllen Winery, the premiere wine brand from Mendoza, Argentina, has joined forces with the Amigos Near Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, to launch the Ferllen Winery Special Edition Art Series 2013. The series will debut during a two-part silent auction fundraiser gala held on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Paramount Bay residential tower, designed by Kravitz Design Inc. and Arquitectonica, in Downtown Miami.
Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $50 per person, with 100 percent of funds supplementing the Amigos Near Foundation’s philanthropic efforts in Haiti. Event proceeds will support the school infrastructure Marie’s Village Orphanage, and will provide supplies, nursing wards, medical tools and basic household items for poverty-stricken children suffering from the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at www.amigosnear.org.
The event, which honors the birthday of Ferllen Winery founder Alejandro Ferllen, will also debut Ferllen Winery’s Special Edition Art Series 2013. The first series of Ferllen Winery’s Special Art Edition blends 50 percent Malbec and 50 percent Cabernet, vintage 2009, from Valle de Uco, and is carefully crafted by enologist Mr. Chavero in Mendoza, Argentina. The label design, created exclusively for the winery by contemporary Argentine artist Pablo Contrisciani, is a colorful vibration that flirts between the elements of color and shape. The original piece will be available for sale during the event, with proceeds benefiting the Amigos Near Foundation.
Guests will enjoy an open bar sponsored by Karlsson’s Gold Vodka, Leblon, Aguardiente Cristal, Ron Viejo de Caldas Redbull and Pisco 100, as well as passed hors d’oeuvres by Novecento Midtown. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience an exclusive sommelier wine tasting presented by Christine Najac, Certified Sommelier and Adjunct Professor at FIU, courtesy of South Florida Food and Wine (www.southfloridafoodandwine.com). Live entertainment will be provided by Hot Jam. Exclusive event photography provided by Santiago Betancur (www.facebook.com/zfotografo). Valet will be available exclusively to guests for $5.
