The Event
South Beach Wine & Food Festival founder and all-around-gourmand Lee Brian Schrager showed his love for comfort food with a party for the release of his new book, Fried and True ($23, Clarkson Potter), a volume in which he reveals fried chicken recipes from chefs all around the country.

The Crowd
Anyone who’s been fortunate to attend one of the gatherings at his home knows that when Schrager invites, the answer is always yes. To that end, the guest list was a mix of cocktail-party regulars, art-world types, chefs, professional foodies and media. Among those raising their cholesterol for the evening were PAMM director Thom Collins, The Forge owner Shareef Malnik, chef Allen Susser, fitness doyenne Barbara Becker and the one and only (arts PR guru) Charlie Cinnamon.

The Highlights
Held at the front terrace of PAMM, the early evening supper bash had the feel of a chic picnic by the water. The party brought the book to life with gourmet stations featuring five of the recipes highlighted in the tome—including Miami’s own Michelle Bernstein. As guests sampled the offerings, Schrager shared some anecdotes about the making of the book. Attendees were sent home with signed copies of the volume, excess calories in their systems and smiles galore! –Photography by Nathan Valentine/World Red Eye
