The folks at Estée Lauder did right by the art of the dinner party at the recent release for Jo Malone’s Saffron Cologne. The powers that be invited a select group of Miami tastemakers for a peek (and a sniff... and a spritz on the wrist or two) of the brand’s latest fragrance over dinner in The Setai’s grand library, a space marked by dark tones and exotic stone textures. Hosts Jonathan and Criselda Breene were all smiles as they welcomed the likes of restaurateur John Kunkel, jewelry designer Daniela Swaebe, philanthropist Christina Getty-Maercks and interior designer Hernan Arriaga. In between sipping Champagne and chatting up EL representatives, guests made their way to the Saffron Cologne table where they sampled the unisex scent. The overall consensus was positive. “It’s definitely something I would wear,” said ad executive Ray De Leon. “It’s got mystery.” Sampling gave way to dinner, a three-course palate treat that featured saffron in every dish. “The lentil soup is the way to go,” said EL’s Kristy Kryszczak. “I’ve sampled it, so trust me on this.” On their way out the door, guests were treated to goodie bags with Jo Malone candles and a bottle of the Saffron scent. “This isn’t even in stores yet,” said a delighted guest. “My girlfriend is going to be so jealous.” Photography by Nathan Valentine/World Red Eye
