The best parties are always the more intimate ones. But you don’t have to tell that to the powers that be at Omega. The Swiss watchmaker celebrated its major U.S. retail expansion (14 boutiques this year alone) and the opening of its Aventura Mall location with a private dinner party at the library of Soho Beach House in Miami Beach. As the rest of the club/hotel buzzed with talk of the Miami Heat’s hot streak in the NBA playoffs, Omega President Stephen Urquhart welcomed a select 20 or so guests (among them editors, Omega clients and VIPs-about-town) for cocktails and chitchat as well as to present some of the brand’s newest styles. With introductions out of the way, attendees moved to the dining room, where they enjoyed a three-course, family-style meal of selections from the menu at Cecconi’s. Among the guests were Susanne Birbragher, Ashley Turchin, Adrian Gonzalez, Rodner Figueroa and Nikki and Michael Simkins. "I’m going outside to enjoy the heat," said Urquhart as dishes were cleared and dinner drew to a close. "Your air-conditioning in Miami is... intense." Photography by Justin Namon/World Red Eye.
