From the way women were gushing over him, you’d think Daniel Boulud was a rock star and not the Michelin star-rated chef that he is. The top toque was a hit with the ladies (and all other guests for that matter) in his role as co-host of Miami’s To Live & Dine party at the Moore Building, the magazine’s annual celebration of The Restaurant Issue. Just steps away, new db Bistro Moderne Executive Chef Matthieu Godard oversaw the presentation of db dishes for guests to sample. Theirs were just a few of the many, many bites enticing foodies to forget about diets and calories for the evening. More than 18 of the city’s top chefs—among them Todd Erickson, Kris Wessel and Giorgio Rapicavoli—served up their best and most popular dishes at one of the most successful and crowded To Live & Dine events to date. The multiple restaurant stations proved too much for the Moore Building’s air-conditioning, but the heat didn’t dampen anyone’s appetite. Attendees cooled off with a variety of Herradura Tequila and Chambord Vodka cocktails as well as with more than a few Mexican popsicles from the Paulina’s Pops cart.
