If you follow the itinerary for the seven-night Spain, France & Tuscany Voyage aboard Azamara Club Cruises’ boutique luxury vessel, it resembles a pinball’s trajectory, bouncing around to the most idyllic countries in the Mediterranean. Rome, Florence and Portofino, Italy; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Marseille and Sète, France; and Barcelona, Spain—the stops read like a European greatest hits list. My fiance and I could only imagine what awaited us in these enticing ports of call.
From the moment we board the 690-passenger Azamara ship, we realize everything will be equally marvelous—from discovering new romantic locales to the ocean voyage between each magnificent stop. After entering our high-end home for the week (read: a spacious stateroom with private balcony), we’re informed that our stateroom attendant and assistant will be on hand to indulge our every request throughout the journey. Before the ship has even left port, it’s clear this experience will be unlike any other.
As travelers, my fiance and I believe cuisine reveals much about a place and its culture, and we knew exploring this corner of the world would not be complete without experiencing the tastes of these famous food scenes. But before each departure, Azamara’s culinary team serves up inventive fare to rival anything we might encounter on shore. From nightly specialty menus in the main dining room that focus on the flavors of our daily destinations to two signature luxury restaurants—each with its own accomplished executive chef—we indulge our taste buds at every turn.
