High Marks

| April 28, 2016 | Parties

The RSVPs were plentiful for the Pérez Art Museum Miami’s annual Art of the Party, which, this year, had its largest fundraiser to date, thanks to the more than 800 philanthropists, civic leaders and supporters who showed up for the occasion.

As usual, the soiree drew an enviable group of notables, including artist Michele Oka Doner, renowned chef Ingrid Hoffmann, developer Craig Robins and Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Giménez.

Applause erupted when museum director Franklin Sirmans introduced artist Chuck Close, the night’s honoree, at the Chef’s Table portion of the party. Simultaneously, in the museum’s second-floor galleries, additional guests enjoyed the Supper Club, a more relaxed experience with buffet stations and art installations. The night concluded with loose ties and serious dance moves at the Remix afterparty, thanks to DJ Jessica Who and her set list of throwback favorites. By evening’s end, PAMM had raised more than $1 million for its art education programs. -Photography by Getty Images & World Red Eye
