Although he might be too humble to admit it, Jonathan Babicka has the type of physique underwear ads are made of. Those biceps and abs didn’t just appear overnight, however. They are the result of a strenuous fitness regimen that would put most Olympians to shame. “I work out seven times a week, and I make it count,” says the executive director of the Little Lighthouse Foundation, a charity that assists children and families in South Florida who struggle with educational, financial and medical hardships. “It’s high-intensity interval training, even when I only have 25 minutes, which happens often with a toddler. Trust me, I can fit a lot of burpees, pushups and free-weights into those 25 minutes. Much of my training happens outside and by the beach whenever possible.” His biggest motivator? “My wife, Missy,” he says with a laugh. “She just doesn’t quit. We’ve even been known to go on fitness dates together.” Equally dedicated when it comes to nutrition, Babicka believes clean eating is essential: “Eggs in the morning, lots of Fiji water, three paleo meals a day, protein at night and a delicious shake.” And, as far as his grooming routine goes, Babicka sticks to the key basics: moisturizer every day, peels every so often, beard trimmings and regular haircuts from the “best hairdresser in the world—my wife. I’m lucky she can fit me in... and I wouldn’t trust anyone else.”
BABICKA'S MUSTS
FITNESS
“I am really into the 6am class at Barry’s Bootcamp. It’s a healthy competition environment, and my body now actually doesn’t feel right if I don’t get in at least three sessions a week.”
NUTRITION
“I’ve done many healthy delivery food services, but lately I’ve been sticking with Catered Fit. It offers various meal plans depending on how much protein, carbs and fats you want in your diet. It’s rather genius.”
SPA
“I swear by the Hurts So Good massage at The Standard Spa, which is 60 minutes of pressure to relieve all those knots in the body. Then some time in the hammam, and I’m good as new.”
