Isabel Marant arrives in Bal Harbour, revealing the brand’s second store in Miami.

While its sister store in the Design District was imagined by architect Laurent Deroo, the French designer’s newest retail concept draws inspiration from the 1970s and has been developed by Marant’s studio in close collaboration with young, local designers and talented artisans.

The store is identified by large display windows with an entrance accessorized by a signature Isabel Marant handle and opens into a 150-square-meter space revealing a universe that mirrors the artful spirit that defines the brand’s sophistication and aesthetic.

Isabel Marant approaches her retail concepts like she does her collections. The ceiling is festooned with cutout patchwork reminiscent of dress patterns, while a wall is carved in the geometric shape of her trademark 90-degree earrings. The accessory vignettes play with volume, light and shadow through unique display fixtures for footwear and leather goods. Obsessed with finishings, Marant injects unexpected details and materials through erosion and patina, exhibiting a ubiquitous combination of edge and French nonchalance that’s expressed throughout her creations.

In Marant’s cabinet de curiosités, the designer mixes intriguing sculptures and pieces of design that remind her of travel souvenirs. A fluffy Berber sofa anchors the retail space and is surrounded by porcelain, ceramic podiums and terra-cotta tiles that tell a story throughout the boutique.
This new location marks the brand’s 64th store worldwide and will house the main ready-to-wear line, handbags and shoes, in addition to a selection of the more casual Isabel Marant Étoile collection. 9700 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour, isabelmarant.com
