Founded in 2003, Colombian luxury fashion designer Johanna Ortiz debuts a new store in South Florida, celebrating her heritage and love for vibrant dressing.

Buzzy brand Johanna Ortiz has touched down in the 305 with the recent opening of her Bal Harbour Shops store. Shoppers can scoop up the Cali, Colombia-based designer’s catchy assortment of designer gowns, ready-to-wear, vacation and accessories collections. The South Florida pop-up joins its stateside New York flagship store on Madison Avenue. Overseas, Ortiz boasts brick-and-mortar stores in Cartagena, Bogotá and Cali, Colombia.
“The Bal Harbour pop-up boutique is an immersive extension of the Johanna Ortiz world. It blends refined craftsmanship with the warmth of Latin American design, creating an intimate and inviting space. Natural fibers, wood textures and handwoven elements come together in perfect harmony, while curated art pieces—such as a striking cabuya-coated installation by Colombian fiber artist Rosana Escobar—pay homage to my Latin heritage. It’s a space where modernity meets tradition, offering a luxurious yet soulful shopping experience,” Ortiz says.
Curated by Ortiz herself, the Bal Harbour Shop’ seasonal space is a tribute to her Colombian roots in the shape of au natural textures and playful fabrics. Over in the fitting rooms, guests are transported to a tropical escape replete with Ortiz’s Schumacher collection of wallcoverings in rich burgundy and jade hues.

Miami has always been a source of inspiration for Ortiz. In fact, Little Havana and Little Haiti have served as the inspiration and backdrop for past Resort collections. Ortiz’s designs are beloved for her so Miami aesthetic—think eye-popping hues, floral prints, tassels, ruffles and anything that will have you standing apart from the masses.
