“La Santa brings a new ambiance and culture to the Ocho space,” shares Philip Spee, Soho House’s area general manager. “At the House, we focus on diverse programming, authentic flavors, and the opportunity to partner with DJs, artists, and member-owned brands.”
Created by Mexican-born chef Omar (Omi) Montero, La Santa offers authentic Mexican cuisine, which Montero shared he struggled to find after moving to Miami.
“What makes La Santa Taqueria unique is that the food is completely authentic to the cuisine you find in Mexico,” Montero says. “From the flavors and ingredients that we use to the fact that the food is prepared by a Mexican chef who knows the cuisine in and out as I grew up and lived my whole life around traditional Mexican food.”
The menu offers classics like carne asada tacos to creative dishes such as tostada de atun, raw tuna, fried leek, citrus soy, guacamole and chipotle mayo.
“Together with the Soho team, we saw an opportunity to showcase our concept, our Mexican roots, our authentic Mexican food and a real experience with the Soho house community, who undoubtedly love to travel around the world,” Montero adds. “We wanted to bring Mexico City to Miami Beach.”
Spee shared that when Ocho launched 12 years ago, the idea was to create a Mexican-inspired offering, but the menu and food evolved over the years. La Santa has taken over the menu and overall aesthetic on Ocho, transforming the space bringing the restaurant to Miami Beach and giving the Soho Beach House's rooftop pool identity. This collaboration reestablishes the original identity.
“In terms of design, we wanted to stay true and authentic to La Santa’s original location. We commissioned Paulina Guajardo to do a series of murals for us and enlisted the help of La Santa’s design team to help us decorate the space.”

While Soho House is a members-only social club, La Santa is open to Soho House members, their guests and Soho Friends- a newer membership that gives access to Soho House bedrooms, studios, events and benefits such as the spas, restaurants and cinemas.
Diners interested in experiencing the cuisine of La Santa can also go to the free-standing La Santa, located near The Citadel, which connects to the restaurant’s sister bar, La Yolanda Mezcaleria, which has some of the most extensive mezcal selections in Miami.
