“The best part of being an artist is having a public and talking to that public,” said Vik Muniz at the very first Miami edition of Art Talks by Louis Vuitton, a series created by the brand five years ago that brings artists and LV clients together in a social forum to discuss process and creativity. At the core of the discussion: Muniz’s recent sculpture/video installation, Innumerable, at the LV store in Aventura Mall. Among those in attendance were LV higher-ups like ValĂ©rie Chapoulaud-Floquet, David Goubert and Nancy Murray, as well as Miami social types, including Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, Miami Art Museum Director Thom Collins, Webster owner Laure Heriard Dubreuil, and starchitect Zaha Hadid. After the chat, some of the guests moved to a private dinner at one of the galleries in The M Building, where the event took place. Art, fashion and social bonhomie never looked so good.
