Locust Roundtable: P. Scott Cunningham

| July 25, 2013 | Calendar

Locust Roundtables is an ongoing series of open discussion on topics in contemporary art proposed and moderated by members of the art community in Miami and beyond.

Translating poetry require making a myriad of choices, none of which could be described as literally rewriting a text from one language into another. A better metaphor is perhaps the remix in music, in which a song is manipulated by a second artist. To illustrate this theory, examples of choices in translating the work of Peruvian poet Cesar Vallejo will be presented and opened up for debate.
