THE PARTY “Is this a pop-up?” many a guest wondered at the opening party for Dior Homme in the Design District. No, we’re happy to report, unlike many of its current neighbors, the new DH in the DD is a permanent fixture. To celebrate, the brand invited some 400 of its nearest and dearest to preview the boutique. THE CROWD Cutting a dashing figure in his double-breasted navy suit, Creative Director Kris Van Assche presided regally in the center of the packed store as friends and strangers approached him for quick chats and congratulations. Among the luminaries who came by to partake in the festivities were Pharrell Williams, Kelly Klein and Delfina Delettrez Fendi. THE SCENE In what was likely the most stylish party of the season, dressed-to-kill guests sipped Champagne, perused the garments and pretended to not want the hors d’oeuvres. A couple of hours later, the party moved to the nearby Moore Building, where attendees were treated to the premiere of Can I Make the Music Fly?, a short film created exclusively by Bruce Weber for the occasion. That was followed by a performance by Azari & III and, yes, more bubbly.
