Miami restaurateur and art dealer Alvaro Perez Miranda is set to open his latest sushi and omakase haven in Coconut Grove.

As the Coconut Grove rebirth continues and new retailers and chefs flock to the Miami neighborhood, one of Miami’s most recognized and respected restaurateurs, Alvaro Perez Miranda, makes his move to debut Midorie. Known for beloved and authentic Japanese eateries including Hiyakawa in Wynwood and Wabi Sabi, Perez Miranda is known and trusted to deliver a special dining experience.

An indoor and outdoor eatery, Midorie rests in the heart of Coconut Grove, offering an all-day menu that mirrors that of its sister restaurant Wabi Sabi. From upscale yet fast-casual donburi bowls to omakase platters or fresh sushi, Midorie promises uncompromising quality in an approachable setting.
“What I do at all my restaurants is very specialized and the emphasis is always on quality over quantity,” says Perez Miranda. “We offer traditional Japanese food that speaks for itself in freshness and simplicity.”

Authentic craft, quality ingredients and intimacy lie at the heart of Midorie. Allowing diners to enjoy fresh seafood brought in daily from Tokyo’s Toyosu fish market, guests can receive the authentic dining experience in many formats—from omakase to a la carte sushi, donburi bowls and more, the dishes and fresh flavors are consistently artfully presented from start to finish. Ensuring the experience is of the highest quality, the indoor dining room seats only 10 guests, guaranteeing kikubari—the Japanese art of caring for others—while the outdoor area seats 12 people.
