Mourning Becomes Electra

| November 12, 2013 | Calendar

"It's got everything you'd want from an opera...and more. The music knocks you out with its ferocity." -- Marvin David Levy

Mourning Becomes Electra, the tragic tale of family relationships gone awry plays out. Two murders and two suicides in three acts pretty much sums up the family dynamics. The story is an update of the Greek myth of Orestes and was composed by Fort Lauderdale resident Marvin David Levy. Come see why this opera received a 25-minute standing ovation on opening night at the Metropolitan Opera in 1967.

Sung in English with English and Spanish projected titles.
