Moxy South Beach opens in Miami’s Art Deco District.
The exterior of the Moxy Miami South Beach sports the brand’s signature purple hue.
Now open in Miami Beach’s up-and-coming Art Deco District, the Moxy South Beach has ushered in a new era of hospitality for not only the area but also the Marriott brand—being the first-ever resort-style property under Marriott International’s Moxy Hotels name. Developed by Lightstone (the developers behind the three award-winning Moxy hotels in NYC), the Moxy South Beach’s design blends the glamour of midcentury Havana, the artistry of contemporary Mexico City and a bold aesthetic that is unmistakably Miami. “There are few hotels in South Beach that offer the breadth of experiences under one roof that you’ll find at Moxy South Beach—particularly at an affordable rate,” says Lightstone President Mitchell Hochberg. “With two pools and six restaurants and bars, guests can enjoy a sunset drink and a bite at Serena, have an elegant seafood dinner at Como Como, or grab a taco in the lobby from Los Buenos as they head to the Moxy beach club—or do all of the above.” The hotel’s 202 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and are inspired by Miami modernism, a uniquely multicultural style. Outside enjoy the Moxy’s 72-foot cabana-lined pool on the second-floor terrace as well as the rooftop pool on the eighth floor that features a shallow lounging pool, chaises and daybeds. In terms of food and beverage, the Moxy has the best in the biz with its signature Bar Moxy, all-day bodega and taco stand Los Buenos, open-air rooftop resto and bar Serena, and rooftop bar The Upside, featuring a shallow lounging pool, alfresco movie screening area and 360-degree panoramic views. And come April of this year, new seafood restaurant and raw bar Como Como joins the rest of the high-caliber options. Says Hochberg, “There’s an ethos of indoor-outdoor living that permeates the property and is particularly suited to today’s environment: Every area has an outdoor component, from meeting studios that open into a courtyard to a fitness center with a Muscle Beach-inspired outdoor gym, and restaurants and bars with outdoor seating.” The Moxy South Beach is the ultimate culturally rich and affordable option when staycationing in Miami.
