“I would move to Miami in a heartbeat... if it wasn’t so damn muggy here,” said Mark Wahlberg at the premiere of Pain & Gain, a dark comedy based on the true-life criminal exploits of a group of not-too-bright Miami bodybuilders. “I mean, how do you deal with this heat?” It was only early spring when producers decided to roll out the red carpet for the premiere of the film in South Beach, but, true to Wahlberg’s words, temperatures were already at their summer worst. Perhaps the evening’s steam stream was due all the star power in attendance. Or maybe it was one star in particular—Bar Paly, who plays a sultry stripper in the movie, did indeed look red-hot in Dolce & Gabbana. One cast member who apparently wasn’t bothered by the heat was Dwayne Johnson, who sported a leather jacket for the occasion. Regardless of the weather, the cast and crew were in great spirits. Actor-comedian Rob Corddry made a few joke marriage proposals on the red carpet, and costars Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub and Ken Jeong all shared stories of working with director Michael Bay—no dirt, just dish. After the film, most of the stars made their way to Soho Beach House for an after-party hosted by Grey Goose with much-needed cold cocktails and cooler breezes. Photography by World Red Eye
