What was once a Coral Gables dining staple, Ortanique will once again return to the neighborhood for a limited-time pop-up starting September 28.
“This limited-engagement pop-up is more a tribute than a formal relaunch,” shares Delius Shirley, who owned and operated Ortanique with chef Cindy Hutson. “Since we closed in 2020, fans - especially our diehard regulars - kept asking us if there would ever be a chance for them to have a favorite dish or get a little bit of that Ortanique magic. After much work, that time is now.”
Created by chef Cindy Hutson and her longtime business partner Delius Shirley, the beloved eatery brought its decadent flavors to diners’ palates for over two decades before closing in 2020.
The pop-up will feature a three-course prix-fixe menu with a choice of four appetizers, five entrees and three desserts, each considered some of the greatest hits from the restaurant’s 21-year run. The menu will change weekly to allow diners to enjoy new dishes during the pop-up.
Guests can make evening reservations for two seatings, each limited to 40 diners and a two-hour time frame, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The carefully crafted beverage program will include Ortanique’s famous mojito, select beers and wines.
The pop-up will inhabit the former QP Tapas space inside MKT Kitchen.
