Louis Vuitton delivers the posh at its Design District debut.

Anthony Ledru, the president and CEO of Louis Vuitton Americas, cut quite the dashing figure in his blue suit at the big reveal of the brand’s permanent Design District location—a store that’s been the subject of much anticipation since LV first set up a temporary shop in the neighborhood back in 2011.

True to LV form, the soiree had its VIPs in check. Among those making the rounds were developer Craig Robins, Turnberry Associates’ own Jackie Soffer, jewelry designer Daniela Swaebe, marketing mastermind Manny Machado, collectors Dennis and Debra Scholl—not to mention hundreds of other nearby retailers and fashion types all too happy to check out the boutique’s three floors of sartorial treasures.

From the abstract representation of the Damier pattern on the store’s facade to the three levels (or, in LV speak, “universes”) of garments and accessories, the opening hit all the right marks. And so did the everyone-who’s-anyone-is- here celebration: We’re talking chilled Champagne that never stopped flowing, decadent hors d’oeuvres almost too pretty to eat, easy-on-the-eyes waiters from Shiraz with movie star smiles on their faces and a fourth-floor terrace that became the party’s favored gathering spot for conversation—and “Oh, why not?” tequila shots. -Photos by World Red Eye
